Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers — but you have to know — the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.
The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!
How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools — keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them “hi” in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!
What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is our Feature today? Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to WordPress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don’t have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed.
Question:
What is the BIGGEST word you’ve seen used in a book lately – that made you stop and look it up? Might as well leave the definition & book too.
Answer:
I'm sorry to say that I rarely look up words while I read. If I see a word I don't know I skim over it and try to figure it out with the context of the sentence. It's not that big of a deal for me.
What do you think?
Thats what I do as well. The context of what I'm reading always allows me figure it out.

ReplyDeleteI'm a new GFC follower so be sure to follow me back at http://bookaholicfaggots.blogspot.com or find me on the Linky list as Cindy @ In This World of Books.. Thanks!
I do try to look them up... only because I feel like my mom is staring at me telling me to learn a new word!! ahhaha

I rarely look up words either unless I am reading on my Nook and find myself extra curious about a word. The word I had to look up was from David Mitchell's novel Cloud Atlas. Check it out here
ReplyDeleteYeah usually if there is a difficult word I can infer the context of it by the sentence. But if a word is really bugging me--and it has--I pull out good ol Webster!

I don't normally look up words, but if I'm reading on my kindle I might because it's quicker and easier.

That's what I do most of the time. Sometimes (and that's a great rarity) I might get intrigued by a word and look it up. But that doesn't mean I remember it :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a new GFC follower ;)
My FF post this week.
Happy Friday!
Usually I do that too. Hope you have a great weekend!
